Boise man arrested after beating another man with a metal pipe, police say | ktvb.com.BOISE, Idaho — A Boise man was arrested Monday night on multiple charges after police said he beat another man with a metal pipe and led officers on a high-speed chase.39-year-old Keith Earnhart was booked into the Ada County Jail on one count of aggravated battery, one count of felony eluding an officer, one count of misdemeanor malicious injury to property and one count of disturbing the peace, police said.The case against Earnhart began after the Boise Police Department on Tuesday said its officers received a report of a fight with a weapon at a home near the crossroads of Maple Grove and Edna Street around 9 p.m.on May 18.Dispatch advised that a white male in a black shirt had beaten an adult male victim with a metal pipe.Arriving officers found an injured victim and saw the suspect, later identified as Earnhart, driving away, according to Boise Police.Earnhart drove at high speeds in an atttempt to escape the officers, barreling through Maple Grove Road and West Fairview Avenue.Police said he drove into a parking lot, where officers stopped the vehicle using a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver.Police said Earnhart was taken into custody without further incident.The victim suffered significant injuries and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.Police said the two men are known to each other.Officers recovered the metal pipe at the scene, Boise Police said.The incident remains under investigation.While Earnhart faces charges in the alleged attack, Boise Police said he is also connected to an unrelated road rage incident that happened earlier Monday evening.Investigators say Earnhart approached a parked vehicle, yelled profanities and poked at the closed driver‑side window with a cigarette.He then punched and cracked the rear driver‑side brake light, causing approximately $467 in damage.While in jail for the charges he faces in the alleged attack, Earnhart received misdemeanor citations for malicious injury to property and disturbing the peace.
