A former sheriff’s deputy has been indicted by a Livingston Parish grand jury on 12 counts of sex crimes against children, Attorney General Liz Murrill said Monday.Nicholas LoCicero, of Denham Springs, faces five counts of first-degree rape of a child under the age of 13; one count of sexual battery of a child under 13; three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and three counts of molestation of a juvenile.LoCicero was arrested in October 2024, following an investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office into information it received about his sexual abuse involving minors, the attorney general said in a statement. The court ordered that LoCicero be held in the Livingston Parish jail without bond.LoCicero, then 38, was working as a deputy with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office when he was arrested, officials said.He had been with the force since 2022, primarily on uniform patrol, but he was fired at the time of his arrest in Livingston Parish. The attorney general said that LoCicero had also previously worked with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.“Crimes against children are among the most serious offenses my office prosecutes.Anyone accused of preying on a child in Louisiana will be pursued aggressively by my office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.No one is above the law, especially those sworn to uphold it,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
