The Winder Police Department responded to the following incidents from May 29-June 11: •local arrest warrant on Capitol Ave., where a 45-year-old female was picked up. •hold for other agency at Waffle House, West May St., where a suspicious person was reported regarding a man who was walking around, making people feel uncomfortable, and who appeared to be under the influence of something, and the man was found to have a warrant out of Clayton County. •Hands-Free Georgia Act and driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked on North Broad St., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Snellville man’s vehicle. •theft by taking – from building and purchase of tobacco or vapor products for person under 21 on Lacey Ln., where a 17-year-old had stolen the complainant’s scooter. •driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked on West Athens St., where a traffic stop was conducted on an Auburn woman’s vehicle. •local arrest warrant on Searchlight Dr., where a 37-year-old man was picked up. •local arrest warrant, operating unauthorized vehicle with blue lights and driving without valid driver’s license on person on West Athens St., where a traffic stop was initiated on a Commerce woman’s vehicle. •hold for other agency and fail to yield right of way at yield sign on North Broad St., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Lawrenceville man’s vehicle. •simple battery at Swifty Car Wash, Atlanta Ave., where an employee of the car wash advised that a customer from Grayson had assaulted him by punching him in the chest. •Driving Under the Influence (DUI)of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked, possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, drugs to be kept in original container and driving unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle on West May St., where a traffic stop was conducted on an Auburn man’s vehicle. •possession and use of drug-related objects on West New St., where a traffic stop was initiated on a Loganville man’s vehicle. •DUI – drugs and window tint violation where a Gainesville woman’s vehicle was stopped. •local arrest warrant at the Gwinnett County Jail, University Pkwy., Lawrenceville, where a 21-year-old Atlanta man was picked up. •local arrest warrant on North Broad St., where a homeless female was picked up. •driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked on East May St., where a traffic stop was initiated on a Monroe man’s vehicle. •willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, local arrest warrant and hold for other agency on Buena Vista St., where a warrant service was being conducted. •simple battery at the Ministry Village, Church St., where a Winder man reportedly attempted to hug a female attending a therapy session. •domestic dispute between a man and woman. •simple battery – Family Violence Act (FVA), obstructing or hindering persons making emergency phone call and possession of marijuana on Exchange Blvd., Bethlehem, where a woman and her ex-boyfriend were involved in a domestic dispute. •public drunkenness and pedestrian to walk on shoulder away from edge of roadway when sidewalk not available on Colonia Hill Rd., where a Banks County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a Winder man, who could hardly stand and had incredibly slurred speech, standing slumped over in the middle of the street. •lighted headlights/other lights required ½ hours after sunset – ½ hour before sunrise and possession of marijuana on East May St., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Winder woman’s vehicle. •improper use of central turn lane and driving without a valid driver’s license on East May St., where a traffic stop was conducted. •no valid insurance on West May St., where a traffic stop was initiated on an Auburn man’s vehicle. •possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of marijuana, failure to obey stop sign or yield after stopping and no license plate or valid tag displayed on South Broad St., where a traffic stop was initiated on a Loganville woman’s vehicle. •consumption/open container of alcoholic beverage in passenger area, possession and use of drug-related objects and two counts failure to appear on South Broad St., where a traffic stop was conducted. •Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol and fail to yield while turning left on West Athens St., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Watkinsville man’s vehicle. •window tint violation, brake lights required, possession of marijuana, possession and use of drug-related objects, safety belt violation (adults) and minor purchasing, attempting to purchase, or possessing tobacco or vapor products on Capitol Ave., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Winterville man’s vehicle. •public drunkenness and disorderly conduct on Highfield Ln., where a disorderly man was reportedly in the community pool. •criminal trespass – unlawful entry at Perfect 10 Nail Salon, Exchange Cir., Bethlehem, where a 69-year-old man, who had previously been criminally trespassed from this property was seen leaving the property. •local arrest warrant at Cash and Carry, Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., where a 62-year-old man was picked up. •hold for other agency at Ingles, North Broad St., where a welfare check on a female inside the store with a “real beat up face” was requested. The female had an active warrant out of Hall County. •driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked and Hands-Free Georgia Act on West Midland Ave., where a traffic stop was conducted on a Hoschton woman’s vehicle. •criminal trespass at Shell Gas Station, East Midland Ave., where a suspicious person reportedly asked a female “how much would it take to buy you for the night?”, and she immediately felt uncomfortable and told the man to leave her alone and he then pulled a black bag from his pants pocket and displayed to her a white crystal-like substance which she believed was narcotics in an attempt to get her to sleep with him. •DUI – alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances at BP, Jefferson Hwy., where a suspicious female was slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at one of the gas pumps. •local arrest warrant on James Albert Johnson Ave., where a female was picked up by an officer assisting with a domestic dispute. •knowingly driving a motor vehicle on suspended, cancelled or revoked registration, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and signature on citations required; effect of failure to sign; exemption for out-of-state drivers; electronic capture of signature on Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., where a domestic dispute was reported. •failure to obey traffic control device and driving without a valid driver’s license on West May St., where a traffic stop was initiated on a Winder woman’s vehicle. •suspicious persons on Ashwood Dr., where a man reported three people on his front doorstep and one of them appeared to have a gun. •possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, consumption/open container of alcoholic beverage in passenger area, possession and use of drug-related objects and hold for other agency on Miles Patrick Rd., where suspicious activity was reported. •public drunkenness, public indecency, littering public or private property or waters and consumption/open container of alcohol beverage in passenger area at Publix, Gainesville Hwy., where a suspicious person was reported. •traffic stop on East May St., with a suspected drunk driver. •DUI – alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances and improper lane change/failure to maintain lane on East May St., where a traffic stop was initiated. •local arrest warrant at the Hall County Jail, Barber Rd., Gainesville, where a 21-year-old male was picked up. •willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, operating unregistered vehicle/new resident has 30 days to register vehicle, permitting unlawful operation of vehicle, laying drags, reckless driving and driver’s license to be displayed upon demand of law enforcement officers on at Publix, Monroe Hw
