Sargent woman accused of sexually assaulting minor at YRTC in Kearney.KEARNEY — A Sargent woman has been charged with the sexual assault of a minor in the care of the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney.Tarah Ross, 23, is charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault of a protected person, a Class 3A felony.Ross was arraigned on May 8, and her bail was set at 10 percent of $20,000, which she did file.A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for June 3 at 9 a.m.The affidavit detailing the allegations have been sealed in the case, but according to the complaint in the case, Ross had allegedly subjected a then-16-year-old boy to sexual contact between Jan.27, 2025.and April 20, 2025.Ross is the third former employee at Kearney’s YRTC to have been arrested.“Two other former employees, Katrina Fewkes and Martha Ruiz Palacios, face similar charges in Buffalo County related to sexual abuse allegations,” per Flatwater Free Press.
