SC man accused of sex with Thomasville girl.A 31-year-old South Carolina man has been arrested and accused of having sex with a girl under 16 in Thomasville, the Thomasville Police Department said.The investigation began May 6, when a school resource officer in Thomasville was told that a girl had an "inappropriate relationship" with a man, police said.Thomasville police and the N.C.State Bureau of Investigation determined that Sean Patrick McDonald of Loris, which is northwest of Myrtle Beach, traveled to Thomasville multiple times to meet the girl.Police did not release the girl's age.On Friday, May 15, the Horry County Police Department in South Carolina and the U.S.Marshals Service took McDonald into custody without incident.McDonald has waived extradition and will be transferred to Davidson County to face charges.He was charged with statutory rape of a child 15 years of age or younger, two counts of statutory sex offense and solicitation of a minor by computer.Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, police said.Police ask that anyone with additional information related to this case contact the Thomasville Police Department at 336-475-4260.
