Cru’s Summer Mission in North Myrtle Beach nears end after month of outreach MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Students from colleges nationwide have been gathered in North Myrtle Beach for the last month as part of Cru’s “Summer Mission,” but their time here is coming to an end.Cru is a program centered on connecting students with Jesus and preparing them to live out their faith.Organizers say the summer mission has a legacy spanning more than 50 years, training students in evangelism, Bible study, leadership development, and community building.College-aged students and staff are sharing God’s word with people of all ages, aimed at helping others grow and explore their faith.Participants say they spend their days talking with people from all backgrounds along the beach and throughout the community, focused on listening, building relationships, and having faith-based conversations.“It’s important to spread God’s word everywhere.North Myrtle Beach just happens to be a place where so many people come in,” said Clay Foster, who is on the mission trip for the first time and is part of Cru’s campus chapter at his university.“You wouldn’t believe the different backgrounds I meet out here.I’ve met people from religions I haven’t even heard of, and people from all over the world.” More than 100 people have been in town for the program, including students, staff, and their families, working to share their message with visitors and locals.In the evenings, students gather for worship and group activities, designed to build community and encourage one another in their faith.Anyone looking to connect with Cru’s Summer Mission team can find them on beaches near 2nd Avenue South daily from 1:30 p.m.to 4:30 p.m.until this Friday.Cru runs similar mission trips across the U.S.and around the world, including locations like Florida, Thailand and France, giving students the chance to share God’s word.Feel more informed, prepared, and connected with WMBF.For more free content like this, download our apps.Have feedback that can help us improve?Click here.Copyright 2026 WMBF.All rights reserved.
