Man convicted in 2022 DUI hit-and-run that killed Ole Miss student freed early.Man convicted in 2022 DUI hit-and-run that killed Ole Miss student freed early OXFORD, Miss.(WMC) - A judge has suspended the 10-year prison sentence passed down to the man who pleaded guilty to the 2022 DUI hit-and-run of two Ole Miss students, which killed one.Seth Garron Rokitka‘s attorney, State Representative Kevin Horan (R-34), asked for a review of his sentence, citing his “good behavior.” Rokitka will be immediately freed from prison so long as he maintains good behavior, and then placed on a five-year parole.He will also be allowed to return to Collierville, Tennessee, where he resided before he was incarcerated in Mississippi.Rokitka was sentenced less than a year ago after entering a plea agreement.Officials say in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 16, 2022, a hit-and-run driver slammed into two Ole Miss students behind Oxford City Hall: 21-year-old Walker Fielder and 20-year-old Blanche Williamson.Fielder was pronounced dead at the hospital.Williamson survived after being airlifted to Regional One Hospital in Memphis for treatment.Rokitka was identified as the driver through tips.He turned himself in the next day.He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and leaving the pair on the asphalt with severe, life-threatening injuries.Rokitka’s passenger, then-18-year-old Tristan Holland, also of Collierville, was also charged with acting as an accessory.Neither suspect was an Ole Miss student.Click here to sign up for our newsletter!Click here to report a spelling or grammar error.Please include the headline.Copyright 2026 WMC.All rights reserved.
