TOLEDO, Ohio — A man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Mississippi was arrested Tuesday in Toledo by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, according to the U.S.Marshals Service.Kenneth Edmond, 44, was wanted by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi after being charged with homicide on April 29, according to the release.Authorities said the case began April 28 when the Derma Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Lawrence Drive in Calhoun City, Mississippi.Officers found Wayne Lawrence, 36, dead at the scene, according to the U.S.Marshals.Marshals-led Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Oxford, Mississippi, began investigating Edmond’s whereabouts before the case led investigators to Toledo, officials said.The Northern Ohio task force tracked Edmond to the 2300 block of Parkwood Avenue, where he was arrested, according to the release.Two other men were also arrested during the operation, according to authorities: * Laundle Minor, 43, was wanted by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office on a felony drug possession charge * Charles Pinson-Scott, 45, was wanted by Toledo police on a felony charge related to obstructing court orders All three men were taken to the Lucas County jail.Booking records from the Lucas County jail also show Edmond was being held on additional charges, including Toledo Municipal Court charges of driving under suspension or in violation of a license restriction and speeding/operating a vehicle without due regard for clear distance.“This case shows the importance of our mission and the dedication of our officers to keep our communities safe by tracking dangerous, violent felons across the country and bringing them to justice,” U.S.Marshal Pete Elliott said in the release.“We hope this arrest brings closure to the victims in Mississippi.”
