Senate Majority PAC reserve $10.2M in ads backing Pappas for Senate.Senate Majority PAC reserve $10.2M in ads backing Pappas for Senate The political action committee for U.S.Senate Democrats announced it has reserved $10.2 million in TV ads this fall in support of U.S.Chris Pappas's bid for the Senate.The Senate Majority PAC announced its spending plans for eight key states, and the investment in the New Hampshire race was the smallest of the group.Unlike the other seven, the PAC described the New Hampshire buy as an "initial" one, suggesting it could reserve additional TV time in the future.The announcement made no mention of the fact that Pappas will face at least one opponent in the Sept.8 Democratic primary: scientist Karishma Manzur of Exeter, who has been endorsed by several peace organizations.The filing period for all primary hopefuls is June 3-12.The Republican primary contest is between former U.S.Sununu and Scott Brown, both from Rye.The Senate GOP PAC has already endorsed Sununu's bid, as has President Donald Trump."Granite Staters are facing rising costs, higher insurance premiums, and are struggling to afford care for their families — all while Sununu and Scott are at one another's throats," said Senate Majority PAC spokesperson Lauren French."Chris Pappas is focused on the issues that matter to New Hampshire voters, and it's why he'll come out ahead come November." The Senate Majority PAC said it will spend at least $33.4 million in Maine, where oyster farmer Graham Platner is the likely Democratic nominee to try and unseat Republican Sen.Susan Collins this fall.Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had endorsed Maine Gov.Janet Mills's Senate bid, but she dropped out of the race earlier this month, citing difficulty raising money.TV budgets announced in support of other Senate Democratic candidates include $46.4 million in Ohio, $31.4 million in South Carolina, $20 million apiece in Michigan and Georgia, $13.4 million in Iowa, and $10.6 million in Alaska.Several of those states have much larger media markets, which typically translates into bigger broadcast budgets.Sununu for Senate spokesman Mike Schrimpf said it's expected the Senate Democratic establishment would line up behind Pappas."It's no surprise that Chuck Schumer's cash machine is coming in for Chris Pappas.New Hampshire is a prime pick-up opportunity for Republicans, and Pappas is a partisan Democrat who voted with Nancy Pelosi 222 out of 223 times.John Sununu will be an independent voice who puts New Hampshire first," Schrimpf said in a statement.
