Phoenix man allegedly murders pregnant teenage girlfriend in San Diego - KTAR.com.Phoenix man arrested for allegedly killing pregnant teenage girlfriend in San Diego Jun 1, 2026, 9:10 AM A Phoenix man faces murder charges after allegedly following his pregnant teenage girlfriend from Arizona to San Diego and shooting her, authorities said.The victim’s baby was delivered in an emergency cesarean section, but the mother did not survive her injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department.Officers responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting in San Diego’s Bay Park neighborhood, near Mission Bay, about 1:10 a.m.Saturday and found a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.The suspect, 21-year-old Trevon Williams, allegedly ran to a nearby canyon after the shooting, but police found him hiding and took him into custody about 3 a.m.Police said they recovered a semiautomatic handgun at the time of the arrest.Police didn’t release the victim’s name, but her family spoke to Phoenix TV station ABC15 and identified her as Jariah Edwards.Police said the teen was about 32 weeks pregnant.The baby is being treated in the ICU of a San Diego hospital, according to ABC15.Pregnant teen killed during family trip Edwards had traveled from Arizona to San Diego with family members and was staying at a vacation rental.Williams allegedly made the same trip on his own and met Edwards outside the rental before shooting her, police said.Williams was booked into a San Diego County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and two weapons-related charges.He is not eligible for bail, according to jail records.Edwards’ family set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the cost of her funeral and the baby’s medical needs.“Her passing has left a hole in the hearts of her mother, sister, family, friends, and, most importantly, her newborn baby girl, who is now fighting for her life,” the campaign page says.
