Mass shooting at festival leaves 12 injured with shooters on the run.Police and emergency services descended on the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday night following a shooting incident.At least 12 people were shot, according to authorities, with police actively hunting for the perpetrator.Those caught up in the violence range in age from 14 to 61 years old.The gunfire broke out just after 5:37 p.m.local time.Moments after shots rang out, footage circulating on social media showed police officers sprinting down a suburban street.Two of those injured were left in a critical condition, Toledo Deputy Police Chief Joe Heffernan confirmed.He said it appeared that at least two individuals had opened fire and were "probably shooting at each other".In a post on X, Toledo authorities said: "At approximately 5:37 p.m., Toledo Police officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue near the Old West End Festival.Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple shooting victims.Many victims have been transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment."The Toledo Police Department is actively searching for the suspect or suspects involved.The investigation currently includes scenes in the area of Delaware Avenue and Robinwood Avenue.Residents and visitors are asked to avoid the area.Additional information will be provided as it becomes available." Officers were deployed across the Old West End neighbourhood to lock down the area and provide emergency medical assistance.The Toledo Police Department confirmed the shooting took place near the Old West End Festival, an annual event featuring live music and home tours in one of the city's historic districts.Officers are actively hunting for those responsible, the department confirmed."I am deeply concerned about the situation in Toledo tonight.Summer festivals should be safe spaces for families to spend time together without fear of violence," Ohio Gov.Mike DeWine said in a statement.
