Cleveland walk for gun violence awareness unites families grieving gunned down loved ones.Cleveland walk for gun violence awareness unites families grieving gunned down loved ones CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - “He would say I’m proud mom,” Michele Bell said.Bell said she’s taking the pain of her son’s passing and turning it into joy and community.Saturday, she and several others gathered for the Walk Against Gun Violence with M-PAC Cleveland, an organization Bell founded after her son, Andre Brown. He was shot and killed in 2019.She says his murderers are still on the streets. And she says this walk is about bringing people together.“The community is going to understand that we really need to come together.Sometimes it gets lost.We say is often, but we don’t always act on it or use it” Bell said.Bell said she’s determined to comfort other families dealing with that same kind of loss, like Kimberley King.Like Bell, King says her son, Kevin King, was shot and killed in 2019.She said that luckily, his killers have been convicted. For King, community is what helps her through the grief of her son.“It gives me comfort to see people like Michelle,” King said.“People just trying to come to some realization.” Copyright 2026 WOIO.All rights reserved.
