2 arrested, accused of firing at homeowner in Cherokee County, deputies say.2 arrested, accused of firing at homeowner in Cherokee County, deputies say ATLANTA, Ga.(Atlanta News First) — Two people have been arrested after deputies said they broke into a homeowner’s car in Cherokee County on Saturday morning.Montrella Colzie, 35, and Dameyon Heck, 24, were taken into custody by Atlanta police.Heck was wanted for murder in Atlanta, violating probation in Cobb County and manufacturing cocaine in Illinois, while Colzie was wanted for violating probation in Atlanta.Deputies were called to the home on Chesapeake Lane in Woodstock shortly after midnight, where they met with the homeowner.The man said a Ring camera alert woke him up, and he checked his camera to see a man in his truck.He went outside to yell at the person, who fired two rounds at him, he told police.The gunshots hit the truck, and the homeowner wasn’t injured.Deputies reviewed the doorbell footage and saw there were two suspects.They then checked a camera network and spotted a car speeding away from the area about two minutes after the 911 call was placed.Deputies put out an alert for the vehicle, and Atlanta police found it, arresting the two people inside.Colzie and Heck, both previously convicted felons, were taken to Fulton County Jail.In Cherokee County, they face charges of entering auto and aggravated assault.Copyright 2026 WANF.All rights reserved.
