Mason bartender on trial accused of rape; accuser testifies about waking up on floor.Mason bartender on trial accused of rape; accuser testifies about waking up on stock room floor A Mason bartender is on trial in Warren County on charges of rape and sexual battery.Jurors on Thursday heard from the woman accusing Clinton Barnes, who testified she remembers waking up on the floor of a stock room inside the Pleasure Inn in the early morning hours of Sept.14, 2025.In court, jurors were shown a photo of the stock room.Looking at the image, the woman testified, “That would be the floor I was laying in.” Prosecutors say that is where the woman regained consciousness after a night at the Pleasure Inn, where she said she had gone for just one drink. The woman told jurors that when she came to, she was lying on her side and heard someone at the door.“I’m on my side, and I hear a door knock, and I hear what the hell is going on here,” she testified. She said bar owner Jeffrey Nesbit found her and Barnes in the room.“And I remember seeing my pants down around my ankle, and I was laying on my side,” she said. The woman testified she then heard Barnes’ voice.“And I kind of raised up and I hear, ‘Oh no, don’t throw up.’ And he said to get your pants back up, pull your pants back up,” she said. She told jurors she has no memory of how she got into the stock room. She said her last memory before that was sitting at the bar with a drink.Jurors were also shown surveillance video prosecutors say helps fill in the gaps.In one clip, the woman and Barnes can be seen with their arms around each other heading into the stock room. When asked whether she had any specific memory of what happened between her and Barnes in the stock room, she answered, “No, I do not.” Asked whether she remembered consenting to sexual activity, she said, “No.” The woman said she doesn't remember what happened after waking up on the floor, but several hours later she said she woke up at Nesbit's home next door to the bar.The woman testified she spent the next several days trying to remember what happened before filing a police report three days later. She also told jurors she later went to the hospital because of discomfort and a urinary tract infection.Explaining why she waited to report the incident, she testified, “I was scared to even tell anybody, especially my son and my daughter … and felt there was something I did wrong.” According to a police report shown to jurors later in the day, Barnes told investigators he did not know how the two ended up in the stock room, but admitted they engaged in some sexual activity before the woman got sick. The trial resumes on Friday.
