Man wanted in 2021 Cleveland murder arrested by US Marshals in Kentucky | wkyc.com.CLEVELAND — A suspect wanted for a 2021 Cleveland shooting that killed a man and left another person seriously wounded was arrested Monday afternoon by U.S.Marshals in Kentucky.Robbie Cayson, 37, has had a warrant out for his arrest for nearly five years in connection with the deadly shooting that killed 35-year-old Diontae Wallace and sent 33-year-old Jovana Brown to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.According to a release from the U.S.Marshals Service, its Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took over the fugitive investigation in November 2021 and "vetted dozens of investigative leads and spent endless man hours investigating his whereabouts." The task force recently got a lead that Cayson had fled Ohio and was possibly living in Louisville, Ky.The Marshals Service's Western Kentucky Fugitive Task Force and the Louisville Metro Fugitive Unit tracked down Cayson at an address on Louisville's Hazel Street and arrested him Monday afternoon.Authorities say he gave officers a fake name in an attempt to evade arrest."This arrest sends a clear message that violent fugitives cannot evade justice by fleeing to other states," U.S.Marshal Pete Elliott said in a statement."The US Marshals Service remains committed to pursuing individuals who pose a threat to public safety and ensuring they are held accountable for their actions.We thank our counterparts from the Western Kentucky Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in this arrest of a fugitive that has been on the run for nearly 5 years." According to the Marshals Service, Cleveland police detectives determined Cayson was a suspect after Wallace and Brown were found with gunshot wounds to the head on Lenacrave Avenue on Sept.29, 2021.Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene; Brown survived after receiving treatment at University Hospital.Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Cayson's arrest on Nov.18, 2021.
