Campers take part in 4-H June Jamboree.Campers take part in 4-H June Jamboree Youth explored workshops in nutrition, arts, physical activity, and animal projects during the annual June Jamboree.BLUE HILL, Maine (WABI) - Hancock County 4-H hosted its annual June Jamboree that took place June 13th.The event is a day packed with hands-on learning and family fun activities at the Blue Hill Fairgrounds.The jamboree is open to all 4-H members—plus friends and family—from Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Washington Counties.The campers can choose from different workshops throughout the day with topics ranging from arts and crafts, science, physical activity, nutrition and animal project clinics.“You can come to Blue Hill, and you can just do a bunch of fun activities and crafts and maybe make new friends.” Says camper Iona.“So, events like this are so important for youth, just because they get to explore new things.A lot of times, kids in schools are focused on academics, and here we kind of get to try things that aren’t necessarily academic related.So, they get to be active, they get to explore science in a different way, they get to try their hand in sewing or cooking, or workshops like that.” says Leah McCluskey.For more information about this event, and future 4-H events click here.Copyright 2026 WABI.All rights reserved.
