Man charged with murder after shooting inside Williamsburg County trailer.Williamsburg County man charged with murder after shooting inside trailer WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY SC (WCIV) — A Williamsburg County man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting at a residence in Andrews, authorities said.William Swallows Jr., of Andrews, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies responded Sunday to a reported shooting at 424 Cumbie Road after Swallows called central dispatch and told operators he had shot someone inside his home, officials said.READ MORE | 2 suspects arrested in connection with Charleston County homicide When deputies arrived, they found a man lying on the floor inside a trailer on the property.Swallows was also inside the trailer at the time, authorities said.Emergency medical personnel determined the victim showed no signs of life at the scene.Swallows later complained of injuries that were not visible and was taken to MUSC Health Black River Medical Center for evaluation.After being discharged, he was transported to the sheriff’s office as part of the investigation.The victim had been living on the property in a camper, investigators said, and had been called by Swallows to the trailer shortly before the shooting.An altercation between the two men occurred, and Swallows retrieved a loaded shotgun and shot the victim, according to authorities.Statements Swallows made during his 911 call were inconsistent with information he later provided to investigators, officials concluded, and evidence collected at the scene also contradicted his account.The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) assisted in processing the crime scene, and the Williamsburg County Coroner’s Office pronounced the victim dead.Authorities did not immediately release the victim’s name pending notification of family members.The investigation remains ongoing.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office or provide tips anonymously through local crime tip lines.
