Nebraska Court of Appeals upholds sentencing, conviction of Ravenna man in child porn case.Nebraska Court of Appeals upholds sentencing, conviction of Ravenna man in child porn case The Nebraska Court of Appeals has upheld the sentencing and conviction of a Ravenna man in a child pornography case.Casey Hall, 48, was sentenced last November to a total 10 to 20 years in prison on two counts of possession of child pornography.RAVENNA MAN SENTENCED TO 10-20 YEARS FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES He previously accepted a plea deal where eight additional child pornography charges were dismissed.According to an arrest affidavit, in March 2025, a Nebraska State Patrol investigator received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children advising a user – identified as Hall – uploaded child pornography to Instagram.The affidavit said the Broken Bow Police Department seized Hall’s phone, which was then turned over to NSP.A search warrant was obtained to search the phone and the search located 10 video files of child pornography.In his appeal, Hall claimed his sentencing was excessive and that he received ineffective assistance from his trial counsel.In its opinion, the Court of Appeals said the sentencing was within the statutory guidelines and noted Hall “received a substantial benefit” from his plea agreement.The Court of Appeals also ruled Hall did not receive ineffective assistance from his trial counsel.
