Critically injured woman airlifted to EIRMC after head-on crash near Ririe.RIRIE — A head-on collision at the Snake River Bridge north of Ririe Wednesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital including a Twin Falls woman who was airlifted with critical injuries, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.The crash occurred at 4:50 p.m.on 4700 East on the south side of the Snake River Bridge at Twin Bridges when a gold 2005 Chevrolet Uplander minivan traveling southbound crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a blue Volkswagen Passat sedan head-on.The reason the Uplander crossed the center line remains under investigation.The driver of the Uplander, a 51-year-old Twin Falls woman, was airlifted by emergency helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls with critical injuries.The Passat was occupied by two Rexburg residents — an 18-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old male passenger.Both were transported by ground ambulances to a local hospital.Their conditions were not released.Authorities said the wreck has shut down 4700 East and it will remain closed until emergency units clear the scene.The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Central Fire Ambulance, Central Fire Department, Ririe Quick Response Unit, Idaho Falls Ambulance, Intermountain Air and Air Idaho.The names of the accident victims haven't been released.We welcome comments, however there are some guidelines: Keep it Clean: Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist or sexual language.Don't Threaten: Threats of harming another person will not be tolerated.Be Truthful: Don't lie about anyone or anything.Be Nice: No racism, sexism or any sort of -ism that is degrading.Be Proactive: Report abusive posts and don’t engage with trolls.Share with Us: Tell us your personal accounts and the history behind articles.
