Judge rejects bid to overturn 2018 Delaware County farm murder conviction.DELAWARE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) — A judge has upheld the murder conviction of Todd Mullis, who was found guilty of killing his wife with a corn rake on their Earlville farm.The office of Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird sent out an update on the case Thursday, saying a judge concluded Mullis received a fair trial and his constitutional rights were fully protected.A jury found him guilty of first -degree murder in 2019.Mullis will continue serving a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.In November 2018, he was convicted of fatally attacking his wife, Amy Mullis, with a corn rake and attempted to stage the scene as a farming accident."Our office is focused on securing justice for victims and ensuring that those who commit such horrific acts remain behind bars where they belong," Attorney General Brenna Bird said."We hope this decision provides continued justice and a sense of closure for the family, friends, and community of Amy Mullis."
