Multiple MoDOT road signs show false tornado warnings.Multiple MoDOT road signs show false tornado warnings ST.LOUIS, Mo.(First Alert 4) - Multiple highway signs said there was a tornado warning Friday morning when the county was not under a tornado warning, watch or advisory.Several members of the First Alert 4 staff saw multiple Missouri Department of Transportation road signs that listed a tornado warning, including a sign on Interstate 70 and one on Interstate 270.The First Alert Weather team confirmed that there is no tornado warning in effect in the area.The National Weather Service said this has happened in the past with severe thunderstorm warnings.The First Alert 4 team is working to find out why the signs displayed this warning, and which areas were affected.This year, there have already been many confirmed tornadoes in the area.This also comes a day before the anniversary of last year’s May 16 tornado, which killed five people and left a path of destruction that St.Louis is still trying to recover from.This is a developing story and will be updated.Copyright 2026 KMOV.All rights reserved.
