First responders, recovery advocates unite for “One Dose, Many Lives” Naloxone awareness event.First responders, recovery advocates unite for “One Dose, Many Lives” Naloxone awareness event NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.(WCSC) — Officials across the City of Charleston and Charleston County are hosting an event where attendees can learn how to help save a life.The Charleston Center, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, City of Charleston Police Department and FAVOR Lowcountry are partnering to host “One Dose, Many Lives,” a Naloxone Awareness Day community event focused on raising awareness about the lifesaving impact of Naloxone and the importance of overdose prevention.The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m.Saturday in the field between the Charleston Center and the Keith Summey North Charleston Library near the intersection of Rivers and McMillan Avenues.“One Dose, Many Lives” will bring together first responders, service providers, recovery advocates, community organizations and residents to recognize the lives that have been saved through Naloxone and to raise awareness about the ongoing opioid overdose crisis.Attendees will hear personal stories from individuals whose lives were saved by Naloxone and learn about the critical role community partnerships play in harm reduction, recovery support and overdose prevention.Naloxone is a lifesaving medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and restore normal breathing until emergency medical personnel can arrive and provide additional care.The medication is widely available throughout Charleston County and across South Carolina.The event is free and open to the public.Community members are encouraged to attend, learn about local resources and show support for efforts to prevent overdose deaths and connect individuals with treatment and recovery services.Copyright 2026 WCSC.All rights reserved.
