Wabaunsee County Museum expands summer hours.Wabaunsee County Museum expands summer hours ALMA, Kan.(WIBW) - The Wabaunsee Co.Museum is giving visitors an extra day to visit during the week.According to museum officials, the site is now open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m., providing travelers and local residents another opportunity to experience the stories, artifacts, and history that shaped the Flint Hills and Wabaunsee Co.“Summer is one of the best times to explore the Flint Hills, and we’re excited to welcome visitors on Sundays,” said Marci Spaw, Director of the Wabaunsee County Historical Society and Museum.“Whether you’re traveling across Kansas, exploring the Scenic Byway, or looking for a unique Sunday afternoon outing, the museum offers an opportunity to step into the story of the Flint Hills and experience a piece of history you won’t find anywhere else in the state.” The Wabaunsee Co.Museum is located at 227 Missouri Avenue in Alma, Kansas.Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m., with Sunday hours from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m.throughout the summer.Officials said to learn more, plan your visit, or explore upcoming events and tours, visit www.wabaunseecountymuseum.org or follow the Wabaunsee County Historical Society and Museum on Facebook.Copyright 2026 WIBW.All rights reserved.
