KIRKSVILLE, Mo.— A northeast Missouri man is facing three felony charges, accused of striking a child with a wooden paddle.The alleged crimes happened between May 10, 2026, and May 17, 2026.James Spencer, 32, of Kirksville, was charged Monday with child abuse and two counts of second-degree domestic assault.According to court documents, Spencer knowingly caused physical injury to a child less than 18 years old by hitting the child with a wooden paddle and punching the juvenile in the arm.The defendant is being held without bond in the Adair County jail pending a court appearance.
