Hire the Hills hiring event to connect Rapid City job seekers with employers

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Job seekers in the Black Hills will have a chance to meet with local employers next week during a hiring event hosted by the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation.

Rapid City Job Service will host its next Hire the Hills event Sept. 9 from noon to 2 p.m. MDT at 2330 N. Maple Ave. in Rapid City.

The free event will allow job seekers to meet directly with employers, submit applications and potentially participate in on-site interviews.

Employers expected to participate include Monument Health, Best Buy, Old Navy, Safeway, Rapid Transit System, Veterans Administration Black Hills Health Care System, Xanterra Parks and Resorts, Black Hills Protection and South Dakota state government.

Organizers encourage attendees to review available job openings through the state’s workforce website before attending.

The Department of Labor and Regulation also offers resources to help job seekers prepare, including résumé and application assistance, interview preparation and soft-skills development.

Officials say Hire the Hills events are designed to help employers connect with potential workers while giving job seekers an opportunity to make connections and learn about available positions.
