1. Agreement
By accessing or using Regional Industry & News (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. The effective date appears at the top of this page.
2. The Service
The Service provides an educational dashboard that combines public economic datasets, regional industry structure, and news-derived signals for United States states. Optional developer features (REST API, MCP access, subscriptions) may be offered from time to time. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued without notice.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. Not advice
The Service is for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, trading, tax, legal, or other professional advice. See the Disclaimer for additional limitations on scores, news links, and automated labels.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by API terms or robots rules.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
- Frame automated bias or stability outputs as verified facts about people, companies, or news organizations.
- Introduce malware, interfere with infrastructure, or impose unreasonable load on the Service.
- Resell or sublicense API access except as explicitly allowed by a paid plan.
6. Accounts, API keys, and billing
If you create an account, sign in via email or OAuth, or receive API/MCP access, you are responsible for safeguarding credentials and for activity under your account. Paid plans, when available, are billed through our payment processor (e.g., Stripe). Fees, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are described at checkout and may be updated. We may suspend or revoke access for abuse, non-payment, or violation of these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The Service’s design, code, branding, and original presentation are owned by the site operator or licensors. Third-party data (government statistics, GDELT events, news headlines, map tiles) remain subject to their respective licenses and terms. You may share links to the Service and cite it with attribution; you may not copy substantial portions of the site or database for commercial republication without permission.
8. Third-party links and content
The Service links to external news articles and reference sites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, privacy practices, or availability. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, LIMITATIONS APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the site operator from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Update the governing-law state in this section if your principal place of business differs.
