Oklahoma man arrested after allegedly trying to meet up with pregnant teen
WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — Authorities say an Oklahoma man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to meet a pregnant teenager for sex.
Investigators with the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office say a decoy posing as a pregnant 15-year-old girl created a profile on multiple online dating platforms to identify those who were engaging in unlawful sexual communications with minors.
Officials say Jeffrey McKay initiated contact with the decoy and engaged in sexually explicit conversations, even after being informed that the decoy was 15 years old. Investigators say further arrangements were made to meet in person for a potential sexual encounter.
When McKay went to meet the decoy, he was taken into custody.
McKay was arrested on complaints of lewd acts or proposals to a child and facilitating sexual conduct with a child.
"The safety of our children is our top priority. Our deputies and investigators work tirelessly to identify and stop individuals who attempt to exploit minors. Thanks to the professionalism and dedication of our team, we were able to safely apprehend this suspect before any harm could occur. We urge parents to stay vigilant and monitor their children’s online activity," said Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott.
