Arizona man arrested for Hall County sex crimes

TUCSON, AZ. (KSNB) - A Tucson, Arizona, man is in jail facing dozens of child sex crime charges in Hall County.

Tucson TV station KOLD reported that Daniel Contreras, 35, was arrested Monday on a Hall County warrant. He is being held without bond in the Pima County, Arizona, jail.

Court records show Hall County prosecutors filed 64 charges against Contreras Monday, including six counts of sex trafficking of a minor and 58 counts of child enticement by electronic device.

An affidavit from the Grand Island Police Department shows that Contreras allegedly communicated via social media with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.

The affidavit refers to dozens of social media messages dating from June 2025 to as late as Aug. 5, 2026.

Some of the messages referred to various explicit sex acts that Contreras wanted to have with the 14-year-old girl. Other messages referred to sex acts with animals.

A warrant for Contreras’ arrest was issued Monday, and he was arrested in Tucson later that day.

A bond and extradition hearing is scheduled Aug. 14 in Tucson.
