Kitten rescued as firefighters extinguish Alamo house fires caused by vehicle blaze
The Alamo Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire that spread to three homes, destroying two of them on Monday.
Firefighters arrived at around 2 p.m. to find a vehicle burning under a carport in the 200 block of San Diego Drive, and the fire spread to three nearby homes, according to Alamo Fire Chief Roman Flores.
Two of the structures were declared a total loss. The third sustained about 50% fire damage, and the vehicle was also destroyed.
No one was hurt. Firefighters also rescued a kitten from one of the homes, Flores added. The fire was placed under control at around 5 p.m.
The Donna Fire Department also assisted. The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal's Office is leading the investigation into what caused the fire.
