Attorney Gen. Aaron Ford blames Gov. Joe Lombardo for rising gas prices

CARSON CIYY, Nev. (KOLO) - As gas prices in Northern Nevada jump above $5 a gallon, Gov. Joe Lombardo wrote a letter supporting Trump’s new budget bill to allocate another $70 billion toward the Iran War, which has cost Americans $37 billion, according to a Wednesday, July 29, Aaron Ford for governor news release.

“Lombardo is once again doing his two favorite things: supporting a cost-raising waste of taxpayer dollars and licking Donald Trump’s boot,” Attorney Gen. Aaron Ford said.

Trump’s re-escalation of the war has forced gas prices to shoot up to an average $5.17 a gallon in Reno and $4.85 a gallon in Las Vegas, the release said.

“After all the pain at the pump Nevadans have already suffered thanks to Trump’s Iran War, Joe Lombardo is doubling down on his support and seeking to funnel billions more taxpayer dollars towards it,” Ford said. “This is the ‘pain’ Lombardo wants Nevadans to feel in order to placate Trump.”

Ford said he is running to end the cost-of-living crisis and lead Nevada out of the mess he said Lombardo and Trump have created.

“Nevadans need a governor who will stand up to Trump and his cost-raising agenda, not bow down to his every whim,” Ford said. “Lombardo clearly isn’t up to the task, but that’s the governor I’ll be.”

As part of his Affordable Nevada agenda, Ford outlined plans to stop companies from unnecessarily raising the cost of essentials like gas, groceries, and health care.

Earlier this year, Ford warned gas companies against using the Iran War as an excuse to pad their profits at the expense of consumers.
