Students make changes to Mizzou campus during 'Hate Week' ahead of KU rivalry game

The University of Missouri has been preparing all week for a rivalry showdown more than a century old.

The Tigers will play in the Border War game against the University of Kansas Jayhawks on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. in Lawrence, Kansas.

Students have nicknamed the days leading up to the big game as "Hate Week," when anything associated with the KU Jayhawks gets covered or cancelled.

Any signs with the letter 'K' around Mizzou's campus have been covered or crossed out.

In a similar fashion, students, staff and other Tiger fans will even lowercase any K's on purpose in text.

Mizzou fans are hoping the Tigers can defend last year's win against the Jayhawks.

To quote Mizzou's battle song, Mr. Brightside by The Killers: "Destiny is calling me."
