Solicitor: Pickens man sentenced to over 20 years for child sex crimes
PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A Pickens man was sentenced to over 20 years for child sex crimes, according to the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor.
The solicitor said 53-year-old Donald Grady Moore was found guilty of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor - victim under 11 years of age by a Pickens County jury on Friday.
Moore was sentenced to 25 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Once his sentence is completed, he is required to register as a sex offender and wear a lifetime ankle monitor.
According to evidence presented at the trial, Moore sexually abused a seven-year-old in 2022.
After the sexual battery, the solicitor’s office said the victim told a family member, who took the child to the hospital.
Law enforcement was then called to the hospital and launched an investigation.
