‘It was bad’: 1 dead, 4 hospitalized in Trimble County crash A 39-year-old man was killed after a head-on wreck and vehicle fire on Milton Hill. MILTON, Ky. (WAVE) - Highway 421 is reopened in Milton after a fatal crash and vehicle fire Tuesday. Kentucky State Police (KSP) identified David Logan, 39, from Lawrenceburg, Indiana as the lone fatality in the wreck. Three children and an adult who were all in the other vehicle were flown to hospitals in Louisville with serious injuries. According to KSP’s preliminary investigation, a 29-year-old woman driving with the children crossed the center line and Logan’s truck head-on. Drivers were detoured for hours near Darrell Henderson’s auto shop. Henderson, who has lived or worked at the bottom of the hill for decades, heard the wreck happen. “I heard a really, really loud boom and then immediately after that the black smoke rolled,” Henderson said. “Of course, you knew it was a wreck of some sort, didn’t know what it was but knew it was bad.” Logan’s truck could be seen by our WAVE drone camera’s charred from the incident. KSP says all three children were flown to Norton Children’s Hospital. The driver of the car, identified as Mary May from Jeffersonville, was flown to UofL Hospital. All four have serious injuries. Despite experiencing decades of crashes and detours, Henderson said he didn’t need to see the wreck to know what happened. “I knew somebody was,” Henderson said with a pause. “Anytime you hear a boom that loud, you know someone is hurt. Someone was hurt.” Kentucky State Police are still investigating the wreck. The crash is still under investigation. Logan’s next of kin has been notified.
