Police arrest Beltsville man after reported road rage gun threat in Anne Arundel County
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) — A 37-year-old man was arrested after an alleged road rage incident involving a handgun in Anne Arundel County, officials said.
Police responded to the road rage complaint on September 22 around 9:45 a.m. near Woodland Road and Obrecht Road.
After the alleged road rage incident occurred, police said the suspect fled the scene in their car.
Officers searched the area, found the suspect’s white Dodge Ram pickup, and detained the driver at the intersection of West Pasadena Road and Melchior Road.
Police identified the suspect as Stanley Keith Sargeant, of Beltsville, Maryland.
Further investigation indicated that the suspect pointed a handgun at a man in the parking lot of Orrstown Bank on Jumpers Hole Road before fleeing in his car, according to officials.
While police searched the area of Orrstown Bank and the traffic stop, they located a black Polymer 80, 9mm handgun off the roadway, police reported.
The suspect was arrested and charged accordingly.
