Sesame Street Live will present Elmo's Got the Moves at State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick on Oct. 10, at 2:00 p.m. Elmo and other characters from the program will appear in an interactive performance that gets children and parents dancing.
According to New Jersey Stage, the performance includes songs such as "Sunny Days," "Elmo's Got the Moves," and "Letter of the Day." Kids will learn different ways to move. Yoga. Jumping rope. Cartwheels. Dance moves that get bodies wiggling and hearts pumping.
The show brings the television program to the stage in a way where families participate instead of sitting still and watching from their seats without moving at all.
State Theatre New Jersey sits at 15 Livingston Ave. in New Brunswick. Tickets run from $34 to $140.
The production marks part of a touring schedule. Another performance will take place at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on Oct. 3, at 2:00 p.m.
Sesame Street has been a children's television program since 1969. The live touring shows have brought characters from the screen to venues around the country for decades, letting kids see their favorite friends up close.
The Oct. 10 show falls on a Saturday. This makes it accessible for families with school-age children who have the day off from classes and homework.
