A man was rushed to the hospital after firefighters rescued him from a northwest Miami-Dade home that went up in flames early Thursday, officials said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said crews responded to the home near the 3500 block of Northwest 101st Street around 5:45 a.m. and found heavy smoke.

A Ring camera from across the street captured the sound of screams as the smoke was seen pouring from the home.
Peyton Hernandez, who lives in the home, said her dad woke up when he smelled smoke. They grabbed a hose to attack the flames but the smoke was overwhelming.
"I couldn’t like breathe, I couldn’t see my eyes was burning," Hernandez said.
Her grandfather also tried to help but things took a turn.
"I feel like my granddad was in there too long and then he screamed and then that’s when the firefighters came," Hernandez said.

Crews began extinguishing the flames as they entered the home to search for anyone who may still be inside.
Firefighters found the grandfather in the home, who was rescued and taken to a nearby trauma facility.
He's expected to survive, with burns to his arms and forehead.
But the family's home sustained major damage.
"It's a lot. This is my grandmother’s house, this is all we have left of her forreal, so it’s a lot. it’s a lot," Hernandez said.
The fire was extinguished, and the cause remains under investigation.
