MARLBOROUGH – 7 Brew, the popular drive-thru coffee shop, has submitted an application to operate a location at 2 Mount Royal Avenue in Marlborough.
On September 14, the City Council sent the application to the Urban Affairs Committee. The committee’s next meeting will be on September 29 at 7:30 p.m.
If the plans get approval, this would be the second 7 Brew location in Massachusetts, with the other located in West Springfield.
The drive-thru cafe offers 20,000 drink combinations. The menu includes coffees, teas, smoothies, energy drinks, sodas, and lemonades. Topping choices – whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, syrup flavorings, and different milks – are a major draw.
During the public hearing at the City Council meeting, an engineer from Stonefield Engineering and Attorney Christopher Flood represented the applicant, Boston Brewins LLC.
According to the Stonefield engineer, 7 Brew focuses on personal customer service, so the drive-thru will feature outdoor employees taking orders from customers on a tablet, with person-to-person interaction. In addition to the drive-thru, there will be a walk-up order window for pedestrians with outdoor seating.
Proposed hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
