Saint Francis hosts grand opening for new emergency facility in Eufaula
EUFAULA, Okla. — Saint Francis opened a new emergency department in Eufaula, restoring emergency medical care services ten years after the community lost its hospital.
The facility offers 24/7 emergency care as well as on-site laboratory services, imaging, direct access to specialists and resources through the Saint Francis Health System, and more.
“It’s increasingly rare for a rural community to get healthcare back once it’s been lost. That’s what makes this so meaningful. Bringing emergency care back to Eufaula isn’t just about opening doors. It’s about restoring peace of mind and ensuring families know help is close when they need it most,” said Collin Henry, Senior Vice President of Development at Saint Francis Health System.
The new facility is part of a larger investment in rural healthcare being made by Saint Francis.
“As hospitals across the country face difficult financial realities, Saint Francis is choosing to invest in rural Oklahoma. We are proud to restore this lifeline to Eufaula, and in doing so, reaffirm our commitment to the people who call this community home,” said Dr. Cliff Robertson, President and CEO of Saint Francis Health System.
The grand opening of the facility is taking place August 5 at 10 a.m. and will feature a blessing, tours, and a symbolic "Lifeline Restoration" ceremony recognizing the return of emergency care services to Eufaula.
