In support of Jake Johnson

To the editor, Courage. This is an essential quality for anyone in public office – and one I see sorely lacking in my current congressional representative.

In contrast, my interactions with candidate Jake Johnson have convinced me that he will serve with courage as he represents Congressional District 1 in Washington, DC.

Courage means saying no to big money interests and yes to fairly taxing the wealthiest Americans. It means being willing to face opposition at live town hall meetings. Courage means reclaiming the powers delegated to Congress, rather than relinquishing them to garner support from a president who craves power.

I want a representative with courage to speak out when federal policies hurt Minnesotans, one who will speak truth to lies and will speak out against corruption and ineptitude at the highest levels.

Courage inspires one to move forward with hope rather than to retreat out of fear. Please join me in voting for Jake Johnson, a man of courage.
