TN woman arrested in Effingham facing child endangerment, weapon charges granted pretrial release
Effingham police arrested Euzeniua Miller, 31, on Sunday
EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) – A Memphis, Tennessee woman facing child endangerment and other charges after being arrested in Effingham has been granted pretrial release.
The Effingham Police Department responded to an adult apparently being kidnapped just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Golden Corral in Effingham.
Police spoke with 31-year-old Euzeniua Miller of Memphis and found that a kidnapping didn’t happen, but they were concerned about a child with the woman.
Effingham police searched Miller’s property and found a loaded firearm, possible fentanyl and drug-related material, all within the child’s reach.
The child was taken into protective custody, while Miller was arrested and taken to the Effingham County Jail.
Miller faces several charges, including possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon, endangering the life or health of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Effingham County court records, the court granted her pretrial release on Tuesday.
The records stated that Miller can live in Tennessee and travel for work, but cannot see the child except as allowed by the Department of Child Services.
Miller will appear in court next on Oct. 14.
