A Floyd County man already serving a sentence in a Pike County rape case will serve seven more years in connection a Floyd County case.
According to court documents, on Sep. 3, Floyd Circuit Judge Johnny Ray Harris sentenced John Douglas "Jaden" Tackett, 22, of Little Mud, Printer, to serve seven years in prison on charges of second-degree rape (no force), second-degree sodomy and second-degree sexual abuse.
According to the indictment in the case, in 2022 in Floyd County, Tackett engaged in sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old.
The sentence was recommended by the office of Floyd Commonwealth's Attorney Brent Turner and was set to run consecutively with a five-year sentence Tackett is already serving related to a Pike County case.
According to the indictment in the Pike County case, Tackett pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree rape and second-degree sodomy, crimes also committed against a person under 14 years old.
According to Kentucky Department of Corrections records, Tackett is currently serving the Pike County sentence in the Luther Luckett Correctional Complex and is expected to complete that sentence in December 2027.
