Amarillo City Council considers resignation of City Manager Grayson Path

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo City Council is hosting its regular meeting to discuss multiple controversial topics on its agenda.

One of the biggest agenda items considers the resignation of City Manager Grayson Path.

The council met in executive session last Wednesday to discuss the appointment, employment, evaluation, or reassignment of the city manager.

Following that executive session, the city posted a meeting agenda that included Path’s resignation.

The Amarillo City Council selected Path as city manager in 2024 after an extensive search process.

Mayor Cole Stanley held a news conference addressing Path’s resignation and said additional information would be made available during Tuesday’s council meeting.

Path is not present at today’s meeting.

The council also placed on the agenda an update regarding utility billing, discussion regarding a sex offender residency ordinance, adopting this year’s budget and more.
