The bullet entered through the club’s door and flew across the building before embedding itself in the pool table. According to the club’s management, the incident occurred while the club was closed, though some staff members were present.
"One of the bullets actually went through our building," said Ralph Sandoval, a manager at Secrets Gentleman's Club.
One employee was preparing to exit through the door when the bullet came through.
“It really sounded like someone was knocking at the door, then all of a sudden you heard POW, and one of the bullets actually went through our building,” said Sandoval. “The person near where it happened was one of my bar backs. He was about to throw the trash out right when that bullet went through the door. So, he got lucky that nothing happened.”
Management at Secrets Gentlemen’s Club stated that the violence was unrelated to their establishment, explaining that it involved two groups of people outside a nearby building.
Oklahoma City police officials told KOCO 5 that two groups of people opened fire at each other in a parking lot, leaving at least two people with non-life-threatening injuries.
The club's other manager, Stephanie Matthews, said that despite the damage, the pool table remained in use.
"It got hit last night, but it's still up and running. They were playing on it this morning," Matthews said.
While the bullet holes were still visible, the club resumed normal operations the next day.
"There's a lot of people that hang out back here," Sandoval said. "And it escalates always into like fighting or shooting, and it's literally like always right here. Always."
