Two charged in connection with June shooting that wounded woman
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Two men have been charged in connection with a June shooting outside a Bush River Road business that left a woman wounded, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Saquan Davis, 30, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Alterik Mays, 26, was arrested on July 8 and then again on July 16, and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and drug and firearm-related offenses.
Deputies responded around 5:45 a.m. June 10 to the 800 block of Bush River Road after reports of gunfire, according to authorities.

Authorities say a fight that started inside a nearby business spilled into the parking lot, where the victim was shot.
She was found by the Columbia Police Department and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities say surveillance video showed Davis and Mays arriving together and shooting at the victim.
Davis was arrested on July 20, following a traffic stop in the Rock Hill area.
Mays was arrested on July 8, on an attempted murder warrant tied to the shooting. After posting a $150,000 surety bond, he was arrested again on July 16 during the execution of a search warrant connected to the investigation.
Investigators also charged him under RCSD's Parent Accountability Initiative after finding children had access to an unsecured firearm and narcotics inside the home where he was staying.
Authorities say Mays had recently been released from the South Carolina Department of Corrections after serving time on a 2024 Attempted Murder conviction.
Davis waits for a bond hearing.
Mays received a $75,000 surety bond on the charges from the search warrant.
