Union University hosts second annual Ladies Luncheon
Women from across West Tennessee gather for networking and career development
JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) - Women from across West Tennessee gathered at Union University’s Carl Grant Events Center for the second annual Ladies Luncheon, seeking inspiration and networking opportunities.
The event was co-hosted by the McAfee School of Business and the School of Adult and Professional Studies. Organizers said the luncheon aimed to equip women at every level of their careers.
Keynote message focused on leadership and passion
Keynote speaker Miriam Davis, founder of MMR CFO Services, addressed attendees on the topic of women in leadership.
“Finding your passion in life and about creating a mission from that and then being a leader within that, especially geared towards women, and how we are geared and how we tend to see the world and see our environment and be leaders,” Davis said.
Building connections beyond the luncheon
Katie King, director of graduate programs for the School of Business, said the event was designed to help attendees move forward professionally.
“Today we’re just going to learn about how to take the next step in our journey, whether that’s for academics, for enhancement, or in the job market itself,” King said.
Organizers said they hope to continue growing the annual luncheon and draw even more professional women to the campus next year.
