(Willmar MN-) The local TRIAD Group along with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office are hosting the 2026 Minnesota State TRIAD Conference in Willmar Tuesday and Wednesday. TRIAD is a national program that was formed in 1988 when the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Sheriff’s Association (NSA) came together to define a way to help keep seniors safe from crime. TRIAD is a partnership between seniors, law enforcement and community groups to educate our seniors and promote senior safety. The purpose of TRIAD is to proactively focus on issues that are unique to seniors (scams, financial/bank fraud, home safety, slips/trips/falls, wills/estate planning, etc).
Every year, one TRIAD program in Minnesota hosts the state conference. This year, Kandiyohi County TRIAD is the host county. We are excited to be planning all the events for seniors that will be attending this event. We do anticipate about 100 seniors from around the state to attend.
