A former U.S. Marine who spent more than four years in a Russian prison and is believed to be seriously ill has been released and was on his way back to the United States. President Donald Trump announced the release of Robert Gilman after he discussed the case with Russian President Vladimir Putin. NBC News' Keir Simmons reports.Aug. 11, 2026
