LYNXVILLE, Wis. (WKBT) — Authorities say a mechanical issue is to blame for a Crawford County Highway Department dump truck overturning near Highway 35 Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened at 1:51 p.m. at the intersection of County Road F and State Highway 35, according to Crawford County Sheriff Dale McCullick.
The dump truck was headed west on County Road F toward State Highway 35 while hauling a load of gravel. As the truck descended the hill approaching State Highway 35, it experienced a mechanical issue, causing a loss of control, according to the sheriff's office.
The truck flipped at the intersection and stopped against a guardrail in the southbound lane of State Highway 35.
The driver and passenger in the truck sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Wisconsin State Patrol, Seneca First Responders, Emplify Ambulance Service, Crawford County Highway Department and Milo's Towing Service.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
