Cleveland man sentenced to prison after lurking outside of home with loaded gun
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A judge recently sentenced a man to prison after lurking outside of a Cleveland home with a loaded gun.
U.S. District Chief Judge Sara Lioi sentenced Adam Hall, a 46-year-old man of Cleveland, to 87 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio announced Tuesday.
Department of Justice said in a press release that Hall will serve three years of supervised release after serving his sentence.
A federal jury convicted Hall of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, Cleveland police responded to a 911 call on Oct. 3, 2025, about an unknown man sneaking around a home.
The caller reported the man was dressed in all black carrying a backpack, repeatedly ringing the doorbell, knocking on windows and refusing to leave, according to the release.
Once officers arrived, the DOJ said they found Hall in the caller’s backyard.
Police said Hall refused orders to raise his hands and got into a physical struggle with several officers.
During the struggle, officers recovered a loaded gun from Hall’s pants, according to court records.
Police said officers searched Hall and found ammunition, knives, narcotics and a condom.
Prosecutors said Hall was barred from having a gun or ammunition because of multiple prior felony convictions, including drug trafficking, burglary and domestic violence against women.
