A Garvin County jury found a man guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the 2024 killings of two people near Wynnewood, according to the District 21 District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities said Corey Durrell Jackson was convicted in the deaths of Danny Daniel and Destinie Dalstead. He was also found guilty of cruelty to animals, officials said.

The jury recommended life imprisonment on each murder count and one year in the county jail on the cruelty-to-animals count.
“Justice means rendering unto each person what he or she is due,” First Assistant District Attorney Merydith Harmon said. “Corey Jackson is due to never again live outside the walls of a prison, and these two life sentences ensure he will be held accountable for the lives taken as a result of his actions.”
Two people found shot near Wynnewood
Garvin County deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence near Wynnewood on May 31, 2024, where they found Daniel and Dalstead dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
A Rottweiler belonging to Daniel was also found shot and killed at the residence.
Jackson was one of four defendants charged in connection with the killings.
Prosecutors say Jackson traveled from Dallas
According to the District Attorney’s Office, evidence presented during the trial showed Jackson traveled from Dallas to southern Oklahoma before contacting Daniel.
Prosecutors said Jackson remained in contact with Daniel and later helped lead the group to Daniel’s home near Wynnewood.
“Corey Jackson was the ringleader and criminal mastermind who set these events in motion,” Harmon said.
